KAROMED TEAMS UP WITH CTRACK

15 Apr 2011

Karomed, provider of a range of mattresses, beds and seating products for the healthcare sector, has awarded a three-year contract to Ctrack for the provision of an advanced vehicle tracking solution across 30 vans in its fleet. The company has selected the Ctrack Online solution combined with Ctrack cCom in-vehicle consoles as part of its commitment to reducing carbon footprint, enhancing health and safety, and boosting overall fleet performance.

The tracking system is designed to enable Karomed to better manage its nationwide network of engineers – responsible for customer installations, collections and repair – that operate from three regional service centres. In particular, the company will be able to identify the nearest vehicle to a job, based on the necessary skill set, and despatch the appropriate engineer via the Ctrack cCom console. This will enable Karomed to reduce vehicle mileage, improve response times and provide accurate status updates to customers.

Karomed will also use Ctrack Online to monitor driver behaviour to identify areas of improvement and support the company’s internal environmental and duty of care initiatives. The system’s real-time and historical reporting capability will enable Karomed to identify where speeding, excessive braking, harsh acceleration and heavy cornering is occurring within the fleet operation, and work with field-based engineers to encourage responsible driving in terms of safety and fuel efficiency.

Steve Buckland, Managing Director of Karomed commented: “We are committed to operating a business that is safe, responsible and efficient. We have selected the Ctrack solution to replace an existing tracking system due to its ability to boost fleet performance, reduce accidents and minimise environmental impact. By improving asset utilisation and efficiency we are targeting a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 15 per cent.”

Mark Naldrett, Sales Director of Ctrack said: “Our unrivalled range of advanced tracking tools means we are able to develop standalone and integrated solutions that are tailored to meet the exact needs of our customers. As a result, an increasing number of fleet operators are working in partnership with Ctrack in order to reduce costs, increase productivity, raise customer service levels and protect mobile assets.”

Ctrack Online is a true zero footprint, web-based tracking solution that possesses the flexibility and simplicity of an online tool with the capabilities of an advanced server-based solution. The system seamlessly integrates with Ctrack cCom, an in-vehicle, two-way communication tool that includes a touch sensitive screen and integrated satellite navigation.
