Developed specifically
for use in the community, the Karomed Supreme is a fully profiling
bed with some unique features to ensure the comfort and safety
of the patient and the convenience of the nurse or carer.
The bed has a height range from 13" - 32" and an
exceptionally high patient weight limit of 35 stones.
All adjustments except the leg rest are carried out from
the
handset, which, with its clear diagrams, is extremely easy
to
use. The leg rest is operated manually and can be locked in
any
one of ten positions.
One of the bed's unique features is the moving fulcrum for
the
backrest. This moves back along the bed as the backrest is
raised and prevents the occupant being pushed down the bed
by the rising backrest. Similarly, as the backrest is lowered
the
fulcrum moves forward preventing the occupant from sliding
down the backrest.
Also unique is the securing of the side rails by lockable
and adjustable toggle switches. There are thus no nuts or
thumbscrews to get lost. The switches are situated inside
the rails and cannot be opened accidentally nor by the curiosity
of children's fingers.
Both head and footboards are made from soft polyurethane,
greatly increasing comfort. They can be removed for thorough
cleaning and, because the material is non absorbent, cleaning
is very easy.
